Next week will finally see the full-length debut of Andrew Savage and Jason Kelly’s Fergus & Geronimo project. Released via newly established Sub Pop imprint Hardly Art, the disc is called Unlearn –and, it’s safe to say from early listens, that the title is an appropriate one.
The Denton products who’ve recently moved to Brooklyn seem to have abandoned the sound that made them stand out so much initially. Gone, for the most part, is the Motown punk vibe of songs like “Tell It In My Ear,” which has been replaced by a more art-punk vibe. It’s not necessarily any worse — just, well, different.
In the coming weeks, we’ll have more on this new release. In the meantime, give the duo’s new music video, for their song “Walls Made of Grass” a watch after the jump. The clip premiered on Pitchfork this morning and, in lieu of the performers, features a slew of found images and collage illustrations to match the music and lyrics.
