Tu-Lu’s Gluten Free Bakery is opening a second Dallas location in the West Village Shopping Center this Thursday.
Owner and baker Tully Phillips is originally from Memphis and graduated from SMU. After completing culinary school at Le Cordon Bleu in Austin, Philips moved to New York City, where she interned at Gramercy Tavern. It was then that Phillips was diagnosed with gluten intolerance.
Through a lot of experimentation, Phillips created recipes for cookies, brownies and cupcakes. Her first store opened in NYC in the East Village, and the first Dallas location opened in 2011 in Preston Center.
Tu-Lu’s also offers vegan and dairy-free baked goods, plus breads, quiches and panini. They also take orders for special-occasion baked goods.
