Your daily dose of national music news for Wednesday, April 8, 2009…
- Good news if you’re a fan of iTunes: Apple launched a tiered pricing system yesterday and discontinued the DRM on all downloads. Which is great news for people who don’t read music blogs and get their songs for free.
- Free documentaries seem to be all the rage lately: Conor Oberst will release One Of My Kind for free. The documentary followed Oberst and his Mystic Valley band from its recording session to the end of its last tour.
- Oh no, he di’n’t: Rick Ross has enlisted Lil Wayne for a diss tracked on his upcoming album aimed squarely at 50 Cent. Picking a meaningless fight with Ross is one thing, but, I think Fitty has a bigger problem now that Weezy is involved.
- The daughters of David “The Hoff” Hasselhoff are forming their own band that will be in the vein of Miley Cyrus’ Hannah Montana I bet they will be big with German tweens…
