Dallas is going to see more than an infestation of football fans this week. In honor of the big game, groups are putting their best philanthropy out there.
The Event: Leading Ladies Spectacular The Cause: Genesis Women’s Shelter This year, the Leading Ladies’ philanthropy spilled over into two nights. February 1 will see a progressive shopping event at Highland Park Village. Ten percent of sales from participating stores will go to a charity chosen by someone on the long list of honorees. Shoppers will be treated to cocktails and food catered by celebrity chef Lisa Garza. The following day, a sit-down dinner celebration takes place at Bailey’s Prime Plus at The Shops at Park Lane. The Event: Legends for Charity Dinner The Place: Chantilly Ballroom at The Hilton Anatole The Cause: St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital Each year, former NFL cheerleader Cheryl DeLeonardis and NFL broadcaster Pat Summerall present the Pat Summerall Award to individuals who have made “significant contributions in the sports field.” This time, Joe Buck is hosting the event on February 3. Starting at 5:30, Fox sports personalities will accept the award during a night that also will offer cocktails and live and silent auctions. Seats are $150. Call 954-922-7013 for tickets. The Event: Kids in the Kitchen Family Night The Place: Wilkinson Center The Group: Junior League of Dallas The Junior League of Dallas has taken notice of increasing obesity in children, and they aim to do something about it. So on February 3, they’re having a Family Night to help kids and parents learn about the eight-week Kids in the Kitchen program, which encourages kids and parents to learn about nutrition and make healthy choices.

The Event: Spaghetti Western The Place: Love Shack The Cause: The Mario Batali Foundation and The Moyer Foundation’s Camp Erin The pre-Super Bowl party to end all pre-Super Bowl parties is happening February 4 at Tim Love’s Love Shack in Fort Worth. From 5-9 p.m., food-world celebs Tim Love, Mario Batali and Guy Fieri are coming together with Rangers pitcher Tommy Hunter for Spaghetti Western. The event brings together cocktails and gourmet Texas and Italian cuisine in a big philanthropic bash.
