The first person quoted in today’s Los Angeles Times story about the weekend oil summit in Saudi Arabia is Bruce Bullock, director of the Maguire Energy Institute at SMU. Says Bullock of the slight rise in oil output and slight dip in gas prices: Enh. Or, to be more specific: “The result of the meeting was a very small increase in production, some questionable commitments for capacity increases and no reasons for the speculators to move out of the commodity.” Course, one doesn’t need to go elsewhere to read Bullock, as the Maguire Energy Institute earlier this month launched a blog in which the bossman will explain everything you ever wanted to know about the rising price of gas.
