We interrupt your normal stream of unbiased local music coverage for a brief, fairly biased notice.

Tonight at The Libertine (2101 Greenville Ave.), the local music love-fest called The Local Hang, where yours truly plays strictly local music all night long for a crowd of fervent supporters, will be celebrating its one-year anniversary. And celebrate we will indeed, breaking form from the DJ-exclusive format to bring you live bands in this oh-so-intimate setting. I’ve somehow convinced four of my personal favorite local acts that performing tonight would be a good idea.

The O’s, Spector 45, Leg Sweeper and A.Dd+ will all perform short sets tonight, starting shortly after the event’s 9 o’clock start. Between and after these sets, I’ll be doing my local music DJ thing per usual–right up until closing time.

Should be a good time. Plus, it’s completely and utterly free to attend. Oh, and I’ve got free passes to hand out to tomorrow night’s Neon Indian show and Friday night’s sold-out performance from the xx. So there’s that. Stop on by and celebrate with me, yeah? Maybe you’ll win tickets. Who knows? For more info and for set times, visit the Facebook event page.
