Tomorrow morning, Ruthie’s Rolling Café is going to roll on up to the Juanita J. Craft Recreation Center to hand out free breakfast sandwiches. The occasion is Dallas resident and SMU alums Robin Bagwell’s 50th birthday.

Sounds random, right? Exactly.

“We have a Random Snack of Kindness program,” says Robin Skinner with Ruthie’s. “We basically get hired by a group or individual to pass out free food. For instance, last year someone hired us on Veterans’ Day and we went down to the parade and handed out food. It was great.”

Robin Bagwell heard about the program and decided she’d rather pass out breakfast then have a party.

“A bunch of my friends are all turning 50 this year,” Bagwell says, “and I told my husband that I don’t think we need another party, so instead we started looking into what else we could do. Something for someone else that would appreciate it more.”

Breakfast Wednesday is 8 to 10 a.m. to benefit the Juanita J. Craft Recreation Center at 4500 Spring Avenue.
