Pete’s headed out to Dallas Police HQ for a 4:30 press conference, during which the department will announce that, sure enough, it’s charging Erykah Badu with something for that “Window Seat” striptease filmed in Dealey Plaza in mid-March.

“Yes, we are going to charge her,” DPD spokesman Senior Corporal Kevin Janse tells Unfair Park. “We’re not sure with what yet.” Disorderly conduct, more than likely. Updates forthcoming.

Update: It is a disorderly conduct citation, which is a Class C misdemeanor punishable with a fine of up to $500.

Update at 4:53 p.m.: Pete’s headed back now, but reports that the complaint was filed yesterday by Ida Espinoza, a 32-year-old Vernon, Texas, resident who says in the police offense report that she was present during filming with her mother and her daughter. Says Pete, “I asked if DPD could confirm that the witness was there. Sgt. Warren Mitchell, who conducted the press conference, told me he couldn’t talk about it.” The ticket is being mailed to Badu. Pete will have more on DC9 shortly.
