In Nate Jackson’s write-up for tonight’s Rx Bandits/Dredg/Good Old War show at The Granada, Rx Bandit Steve Choi opines that the band’s latest material is a reflection on the late-20s struggle of finding one’s place in this world. That kind of lyrical content may sound like coffee-shop acoustic-guitar material, but the California band’s proggy alt-rock would be just slightly out of place at, say, Opening Bell.

No, The Granada is probably a better choice of venue for Rx Bandits and the like-minded Dredg–though it’s not too hard to imagine opener Good Old War trying to make its chipper folk-rock heard above the hissing of an esperesso machine.

And if you hurry, you can check all three bands out for free, thanks to the generosity of The Granada Theater, which has offered two pairs of tickets to DC9 readers. The first two readers to email me with the subject “…And The Show Begun” win a pair apiece. Be sure to include your first and last name in the email.

Update: Contest is over. Congrats to the winners.
