Although yours truly will not be in attendance, folks with actual fashion sense and a modicum of coolness will certainly be spending this evening’s show at the House of Blues.
That’s because Australia’s The Veronicas will be on stage, dispensing their ultra-suave brand of electro-pop while wearing the high-dollar attire that seems to fit twin sisters Jessica and Lisa Origliasso just marvelously. Makes sense: Besides releasing two platinum albums in their down under homeland, the gals have their own line of clothing, too.
And guess who sister Lisa has dated? Dallas’ own Ryan Cabrera. (Wow, I feel like I’m on TMZ. What’s next, a reality show? No, wait, I don’t think I want to suggest that.) Bottom line, the Origliasso sisters appear to have “it,” whatever that may be.
With a band name inspired by a line spoken by Winona Ryder in the movie Heathers, The Veronicas play pablum pop–easy to digest but of little nutritional value. Despite the inclusion of a few well-placed vulgarities, most of the songs are about as dangerous as a marshmallow. Campy to be sure, danceable, why of course, and consumable–which is the point, I’m guessing.

Plus, I’m betting on some major babes being in attendance. Especially with Gossip Girl star Taylor Momsen’s band The Pretty Reckless opening up the night.
