1400 Miles is a campaign created by Texas brewers who are cycling from Austin to Denver to raise money and awareness for the Pints for Prostrate organization. The ride started in Austin on Wednesday and will stop at Community Beer Co. on Thursday for a little music, beer and dinner. Chef Danyele McPherson from The Grape will cook up the vittles inside the retro bus that is following the riders called the Beerliner.

Over the next two weeks the tour will continue northward and stop in seven other cities for similar charity events. Pints for Prostrates is a charity that relies on volunteers across the country to organize events. 1400 Miles is led by Davis Tucker, who is bringing together the prostate awareness campaign, cycling and beer.

The bike ride and the charity events are part of a feature length documentary about “how American craft brewers are building a new economy, one beer at a time.”

The riders will pop the kickstand for good in Denver in two weeks, just in time for the Great American Beer Festival, which begins October 10.
