If you’ve paid a visit to Bowl and Barrel and loved everything about the experience but your bill, there’s a new, more affordable option coming to the Design District this summer. Bowlounge will offer 12 lanes of bowling just a few blocks south of the Meddlesome Moth, Oak and the other restaurants that have been cropping up in the area. Craig Spivey and Tom Weber are behind the new bowling alley, which they say will offer America’s favorite pastime at $5 to $7 per game, depending on the time of day, plus $2.75 shoe rental fee. They’re also setting up an express lane for those who want to knock off a quick frame.
A massive mural on the side of the building lets you know who’s in charge of the food. Jason Boso’s Twisted Root will offer up a menu similar to his other burger restaurants, with a few new menu additions unique to the bowling alley.
Bowlownge started hiring last week, but a May opening date has been pushed back till June. If you want to monitor their progress a Facebook page has been tracking the bowling alley’s progress. We’ll let you know when they officially open the doors.
