Yesterday, a Friend of Unfair Park wondered if there were any gigs available on Good Christian Bitches (which is now set to feature this JAG) or Dallas‘s pilots, both of which are set to start shooting here in coming weeks — the former in early April now; the latter, late April. I directed his attention to the job-listings section of the Dallas Film Commission’s website, where, turns out, there are two GCB heads-ups (for extras and crew) and a separate crew-call for Dallas.
At which point I noticed this want ad: “Untitled Reality Series.”
Details provided by something called Strait Productions, Inc. are sketchy: It says only that a “Los Angeles based production company shooting a Dallas Reality/Documentary series [is] currently looking for experienced crew” for a 10-week shoot scheduled to begin on April 4; they’re looking for a director of photography, an audio supervisor and other tech staff. I asked film commission head Janis Burklund what the what; she said the folks behind the show didn’t provide info beyond the listing.
So I shot off a missive to the e-mail provided, which belongs to one Ben DeNoble, who, says here, did some lower-down-the-food-chain assisting on Newlyweds: Nick & Jessica and The Osbournes. “That seems like another life ago,” he said via e-mail, but not much more. I asked for further details about the shoot, and all he would say was, “It is an untitled docu-style show. That’s really all the information I can give you at this time.” He initially asked if I was applying for a job. I said no (not yet, anyway), just wanted more info. To which he responded, “I wish I had some more info for you, sorry.”

And that was that. One thing we know it won’t be: that oft-discussed Real Housewives of Dallas, which Bravo’s Andy Cohen more or less declared never-gonna-happen yesterday. Thank God.
