Kobe Bryant tonight will do something Michael Jordan never did: Win a Game 7 of the NBA Finals.
I know the simpleton argument is that Jordan was so good his Chicago Bulls were never pushed to the brink. Nonetheless, Kobe’s feat in this series – Most Valuable Player, rallying his team from a 3-2 deficit – further closes the gap between him and the greatest player to ever put on sneakers.
I’m assuming Bryant is the leading scorer and the Lakers win – why stop now, I’m on a roll – and he captures his fifth championship ring.
