The three weeks that have passed since the body of 6-year-old Alanna Gallagher’s was found by teenage passersby in Saginaw, naked, bound and gagged, and wrapped in heavy plastic, have been unnervingly quiet. Police have been following up on leads, rummaging through Alanna’s things, and otherwise turning over every rock they could find in hopes of finding her killer.
Publicly, at least, their efforts had turned up nothing more suspicious than than her polyamorous household.
That changed today. Four days after a front-yard memorial was set ablaze, investigators linked DNA evidence taken from the crime scene to a neighbor identified as 17-year-old Tyler Holder. Police arrived at his home, two doors down from Alanna’s, with an arrest warrant. According to NBC 5, he pulled a gun from his waistband when he opened the door, striking one officer in the leg.
Officers returned fire. Holder was taken to the hospital with a head injury. His condition is unknown.

Investigators interviewed Holder shortly after Alanna’s body was found but did not have enough evidence to make an arrest. There’s not a lot of information about the teenager save what’s provided on his Facebook page. He says he graduated from North Hills Private School in Denton last year. He is also very fond of taking selfies while blowing marijuana smoke.
