You know who Ed Bark has a news-crush on? Shelly Slater of WFAA-Channel 8. Not that there’s anything wrong with that…
Before the week gets away from us, a couple things:
Do not forget tomorrow night’s Reunion Tower Review at the Sons of Hermann Hall. No need to go into the details — we’ve provided them and then some all week — but it’s sure to be an excellent night out, if only to hear The Ticket’s Mike Rhyner do the Phil Rizzuto bit on Meat Loaf’s “Paradise by the Dashboard Light,” which will be performed by Chris Holt (right after he gets done with Boz Scaggs’ “Lowdown”). Show starts at 8:30. Ish. If you miss it, we should have some audio and video on Monday morning. But don’t miss it.

Ed Bark, whose blog is a can’t-miss for local (and national) TV junkies, this afternoon posted his local TV news all-stars. As he says in a missive shot Unfair Park’s way: “What you see may shock you.” OK, yes, we’re shocked: Clarice Tinsley? Shaun Rabb? Shelly Slater (about whom Uncle Barky writes, “a newcomer whose talent and imaginative approaches to stories already are readily apparent”)? Seriously, the fact Ed can even sit through enough local news to find an all-star team, well, that solidifies his standing as MVP. –Robert Wilonsky
