Flip Benham’s still at work, preaching about how much God loves you by insisting He can’t stand everyone else.
In July, we mentioned how Flip Benham led his locally based Operation Save America to Jackson, Mississippi, where they protested the only abortion clinic in Jackson — by which I mean they burned a copy of the Quran and torched a rainbow flag, because you know how much them gay Islamists jes’ love killin’ babies. Benham, who got Norma “Jane Roe” McCorvey to Flip to the anti-abortion side of the street in 1995, has taken his show elsewhere in recent days: to Wal-Mart’s home office in Bentonville, Arkansas. And they ain’t there for the inexpensive pitchforks and torches.
Ten days ago, some of the OSA army congregated there to protest Wal-Mart’s August announcement that it’s teaming up with the National Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce “in an effort to advance diversity within the store‘s associate, supplier, and customer bases” — which, when translated to Benham’s native tongue, means Wal-Mart’s “being blackmailed by the Devil himself.” And, surprise, OSA also ain’t pleased with Wal-Mart’s decision to carry the Plan B contraceptive — the morning-after pill. Reads some of Benham’s literature: “Yes, Wal-Mart now helps to kill little baby boys and girls, in the privacy of American homes,” which, somehow, is part of the “radical homosexual agenda.” So…confusing.
