Councilman Ron Natinsky got his Valentine’s Day started right, taking a short stroll with his wife, Nancy, down to the City Secretary’s office to submit his petition to run for mayor. Ah, romance.
A handful of cameramen and reporters crammed into the office alongside Natinsky, where he gabbed about future prospects. Natinsky’s submission isn’t a big surprise, just a formal stepping stone.
Natinksy has been gearing up to run for over a year, he said, since rumors started flying about Mayor Tom Leppert stepping down. “At that point, we started laying the groundwork for our foundation of the campaign,” he said.
Now, with his signatures filed early on the first day, “the campaign’s in high gear,” he said.
