*Look for first-round draft pick Tyron Smith to be signed in time for this afternoon’s practice. He might be signing as we speak.

*But as for Stephen Bowen, I hear he’s talking to the Redskins.

*Even though Tony Romo and Kevin Ogletree wore backward caps, Dez Bryant donned a headband and all players were in shorts, the Cowboys flew around with more intensity today than with pads on under Stumbledoofus Wade Phillips.

*With Andre Gurode hurt (knee) and Kyle Kosier and Doug Free signed but ineligible to practice until next week, your starting offensive line was LT Jeremy Parnell, LG Bill Nagy, C Phil Costa, RG Montrae Holland; RT Sam Young. Yikes.

*Bryant showed no ill effects of last season’s ankle injury. He was prancing around the field like an energetic colt in a meadow.

*Signs of rust: Both tight ends Jason Witten and Martellus Bennett dropped passes. Bennett, by the way, says he’s boycotting the media all season. Yeah, right.

*Your starting safeties were Barry Church and Akwasi Owusu-Ansah.

*No hitting, per se, but Mike Jenkins did have a physical break-up for a pass thrown to Teddy Williams and Terence Newman twice blitzed off the corner.

*And, yes, players jogged and/or ran between drills.
