A couple of weeks back, Dallas ISD trustee candidate Damarcus Offord filed an ethics complaint against someone named Mike Rawlins. It turned out that Rawlins was actually Mike Rawlings, mayor of Dallas, even though he had allegedly removed his mayor’s cape off before he endorsed three trustee candidates in the upcoming DISD elections. And even though Offord misspelled the citizen/mayor’s name throughout.
Now, as you see below, that ethics complaint is slated to go before the City of Dallas Ethics Advisory Commission on Friday, one day before the May 12 elections. Who knows how it will turn out. But if the young candidate can cause the mayor some trouble and pull off a win, it’ll be quite the weekend for Offord. Should be fun, if nothing else.
