An early-morning police standoff that brought out the SWAT team and shut down DART’s Westmoreland Station is now officially over:

No word yet on the suspect’s identity or what prompted the chase. We do know, however what type of car he was driving:
Update at 8:01 a.m.: Fox 4 reports that the chase started in Glenn Heights, just south of DeSoto, when the man refused to pull over for a traffic stop, trying to run over the officers instead. When he finally came to a stop at Illinois and Pierce Street, he exited the car with two guns pointed at his head, then took off running toward the DART station. He tried and failed to jump a high fence, at which point police say he apparently shot himself.
