The Dallas Observer Music Showcase is Saturday, November 2 (tomorrow). It’s our annual celebration of North Texas music, some version of which we’ve been doing for 25 years now. Here’s what you should know before you head into Deep Ellum:
What is this? A music festival. The lineup is made up entirely of bands and artists nominated for Dallas Observer Music Awards. You can see that list (and vote for your favorites) here.
Who, exactly, is playing at this? There are 58 bands on the schedule. We’ve described each of them briefly if you’d like to go through and get some suggestions.
Where is this? On eight stages in Deep Ellum, mostly concentrated on Elm Street. Will call is in the parking lot of Trees, if you’re looking for someplace to start.
When news happens, Dallas Observer is there —

We’re aiming to raise $30,000 by December 31, so we can continue covering what matters most to you. If the Dallas Observer matters to you, please take action and contribute today, so when news happens, our reporters can be there.
When is this? Saturday, November 2. Bands start playing at 6 p.m.
How much is this? $10 if you buy ahead of time or $15 day-of. There are also VIP packages available. That information is all here on our handy DOMA site.
Why is this? It’s a good question, one that musician Paul Slavens answered pretty thoroughly in this week’s feature.
