Seems there’s more to Erykah Badu and Rick Ross‘ relationship than Badu simply providing the hook for Ross’ “Maybach Music III,” after all: Seems the Dallas singer and Florida rapper have teamed up for another project, this time a remix of Badu’s “Window Seat.” And, already, they’ve got a music video on their hands (see above).
The remix video, directed by Badu, serves as a follow-up to her controversial original video for the song, which saw the singer stripping nude and eventually collapsing at the same point where President John F. Kennedy was killed in 1963. The clip for the new song, called “Window Seat, Part II,” follows up on the police interest in Badu’s previous video, portraying Badu as an outlaw, having been arrested for her efforts (in real life, she was fined $500). Now joined by Ross, the two are a modern day Bonnie and Clyde of sorts: Ross picks Badu up upon her release from prison, and the two prepare for what appears to be a heist.
But, by that point, the video no longer features “Window Seat,” instead finding itself scored by another New Amerykah Pt. II: Return of the Ankh song, “Turn Me Away (Get Munny).” And it ends with the always ominous, “To Be Continued…” tag, as Badu and Ross, with nylons over their heads, enter a convenience store and fire gunshots.
