A press release popped up in the inbox this morning, confirming something we all already knew for the most part: that the band would be touring this summer in an “An Evening With The Old 97’s” format, with band members Rhett Miller and Murry Hammond opening the show performing their solo material.
What we didn’t know: This show ain’t stopping anywhere near North Texas. (What gives? This show would kill at the Granada. Or better yet, at Sons of Hermann Hall.)
In other news, the press release announces that the band’s “Dance With Me” single from its last year-released Blame It On Gravity will air in an upcoming episode of the FOX reality competition So You Think You Can Dance. Naturally.
But, still, why no Dallas date? Lame. Been wanting to see Murry play his solo stuff live for a while now…
