For the last six months or so, the Fort Worth music scene has been under construction, with a long list of new venues set to open in 2012. A lot of the action has taken place in the New Southside district, where the Live Oak Music Hall and Brewed Coffee & Pub (owned by Green River Ordinance guitarist Jamey Ice) are both approaching their grand openings.
But over in the Ridglea Theater complex, The Ridglea Bar has reached the finish line first. This weekend marks the soft opening of the first of several Ridglea Theater-related businesses yet to open. They’re celebrating with a week of free shows starting with a performance from Dru B Shinin, Wheelchair Sports Camp, Dirt & Earthyvibes and Doug Funnie.
According to the Facebook invite, all shows this week are BYOB.
Among the venues in the Ridglea complex is the Ridglea Grille, set to open this summer (according to the Ridglea Theater website), followed by the Ridglea Theater, which is set to open in the fall.
