In the wake of their brilliant new record, High Violet, The National are doing what they do best–touring the world. The tour will eventually bring them right here in town at the House Of Blues on Saturday October 9.

Until then, spinning the new album repeatedly will have to suffice.

Well, that and the above video, which features The National’s singer, Matt Berninger, sitting in with Dallas native St. Vincent for a duet on her version of “Mistaken For Strangers” from The National’s album, Boxer. It’s just a soundcheck rehearsal on what appears to be a beautiful day a few weeks back in Lyon. But, still: Very cool. It’s a pretty mellowed-out take on the album version, which is uptempo and fairly dark. But it definitely has St. Vincent’s touch on it.

Well worth the listen.
