Last October, Falkon lead singer Mwanza Dover made a stink when he posted a kiss-off to Dallas on the Internet. He blasted the music scene for not supporting experimental acts and said he’d rather pack up his art-rock band and move to a more receptive city like New York. On Saturday, he’s making good on that promise: After years of hiatuses, name changes and yearly improvements, The Falkon is splitting town, but not before a farewell show with Austin’s rowdy Darkness-trumpers Young Heart Attack. There’s no telling if The Falkon will replicate the DFW-to-NYC success of Secret Machines (also in town this week; see below), but we certainly hope so.
