Frisco is turning into quite the rock ‘n’ roll city thanks to the folks at Lochrann’s Irish Pub & Eatery and Spune Productions. Spune began booking Thursday night shows at Lochrann’s a few months back, offering Frisco(ans?) a chance to see the area’s best bands without having to drive 20 miles north or south. And, so far, the response has been great.
“There’s enough people that would like to go out in their own town rather than going to Dallas or Denton,” says Lance Yocom of Spune Productions.
Enough people, at least, that he expects next month’s inaugural Oysterfest to be a pretty huge deal.
As we reported a few weeks ago, the festival will take place on Saturday, September 25, with headliners Rhett Miller, Bowerbirds, Efterklang, and a handful of locals including Telegraph Canyon, Analog Rebellion, and more.

To top it off, Spune just announced today that Mount Righteous, Seryn, RTB2, Fox & The Bird, The O’s, Roomsounds, and Pale Horse have been added to the bill. And KKXT-91.7 FM has been added to the list of sponsors, which, full disclosure, already includes the Dallas Observer.
