Hate to break the bad news, but Austin’s Sharks and Sailors may have picked the wrong city to play on Sunday. The quartet wears its love for D.C. punk on its short, black sleeves, and the result reflects the cutthroat gall of Red Animal War and the abrasive guy-girl shouting harmonies of former Dallasites Sand Which Is–neither of whom ever really broke big in this scene for whatever asinine reason. But don’t be so foolish as to pass up this young band; they’re touring on the strength of their unbelievably promising self-titled debut EP, a 12-minute disc that begs repeat listens after the music ends too soon.
