In a presumed attempt to prove that they do, in fact, deserve the recent MOJO award for “Best Live Act,” and, uh, the even more recent Dallas Observer Music Award for Best Indie Rock Act, Midlake has announced yet another world tour. This time they’ll be visiting three continents (North America, Europe, and Australia) with another act with local ties, Rogue Wave.

Even though the awards come as a huge pat on the back, there are no signs of Midlake resting on their laurels. With only a short break between their last tour with Grandaddy’s Jason Lytle and the forthcoming outing with Rogue Wave, the Denton boys are gaining steam despite their most recent album receiving mostly low marks from critics.

Unfortunately, the tour doesn’t have a stop scheduled in Dallas, but Midlake will be performing at this year’s Austin City Limits Festival in Austin.
