And so we come to it at last: South by Southwest 2011. Surely, the great music festival of our time. But one does not simply walk into SXSW. Nay, there exists a slew of iconic and philosophical challenges to wade through — screaming large crowds, Cormac McCarthy-esque fields littered with energy drinks and broken iTunes samplers, and, worst of all, that downtown Austin traffic.
Those of you who’ve been to SXSW are all-too-aware of what you’re likely to see in downtown Austin and beyond this upcoming week.
But it’s totally gonna be great, though. We promise. If only because we’ve developed a game for you to play during your SXSW travels, to keep things fresh and entertaining as you amble from showcase line to showcase line. Yes, that’s right: SXSW Bingo.
We’ve built the game around what we predict you’ll see at the giant music utopia that is Austin, Texas. It’s all there — the hipsters, the accessories, the sunglasses at night. Even Bill Murray.

Your support strengthens our coverage.
We’re aiming to raise $30,000 by December 31, so we can continue covering what matters most to you. If the Dallas Observer matters to you, please take action and contribute today, so when news happens, our reporters can be there.
So, here’s what you can do: Print our SXSW bingo cards out (download all four cards in full size after the jump!), take them with you into Mordor SXSW, and keep an eye out for the various things we want you to spot. It’s kind of like “I Spy.” Meets Bingo.
Meets SXSW.
And, if you really want to get into it, bring your camera with you, snap a photo of one of our squares in the real world and then post it the comments. If it’s what we’re looking for, we’ll put it in one of our slideshows recapping SXSW.
Game on.
