It’s a fairly simple design. But, more than that, it’s a great cause.

For the fifth year in a row now, Danny Balis and Dave Lane, the folks behind KTCK-1310 AM The Ticket’s Saturday morning show “The Orphanage” will be hosting their annual concert to benefit the Gladney Center for Adoption. It’s a cause near and dear to the hosts’ hearts; both Balis and Lane were adopted as children.

And, fittingly, the poster advertising the show perpetuates the ideas behind it. Yes, it’s a holiday event — hence the Christmas tree ornament serving as the main image. And, yes, it’s to help children with uncertain futures — hence the question mark serving as the ornament’s hanging mechanism.

Beyond that, it’s a straightforward design — a simple color scene, an appropriately not-over-the-top set of typography; and all the pertinent info is included. Considering the cause, though, straightforward is exactly what this poster’s design merits.
