Hey, a horizontal poster! We almost never see those! But, hey, sometimes a little change is good. Healthy, too.
Also healthy? Having a strong, in-house creative team, which is something that Air Review definitely does. Like DJ Sober, Air Review handles all of its image and aesthetic details in-house, with frontman Douglas Hale doing much of the heavy lifting on that front. He does a god job of it, too, as you can see in this week’s above, winning poster entry for tonight’s Burning Hotels CD release show, which is also featuring sets from Air Review and Hoyotoho.
The design’s pretty simple — just some spare white text in an otherwise massive, beautiful found image — but it works because, like all of our winners, it’s just so gosh darn eye-catching.
Sure, it’s reminiscent of some Gorilla Vs. Bear designs we’ve seen, but, hey, a little imitation never hurt anything. So long as its not too close of an imitation, that is.
