We seem to be on a Day of the Dead artwork kick lately, as last week’s PoW featured stylized skulls as well.
The 100 Damned Guns, Whiskey Folk Ramblers and Mariachi Inolvidable lineup at Dan’s Silverleaf is especially intriguing because of the opening act on the bill. Composed of UNT College of Music students and alumni, with some splitting time with Mariachi Aguilas, Denton’s Mariachi Inolvidable (Spanish for “Unforgettable Mariachi”) really live up to their name. This isn’t your average mariachi combo bothering you for tips at a Mexican restaurant.
As much as we’ve enjoyed these last couple of winners, next week we’ll do our best to find a poster that’s not so muerte-obsessed.–Jesse Hughey
Update: Just heard from the band and then from the artist, who also left a comment. The designer is none other than 100 Damned Guns’ own Dave Sherrill.
