Seems Play-N-Skillz is on a new tip these days.
A couple weeks back, the Grammy-winning, Dallas-based production duo behind such hits as Chamillionaire’s “Ridin'” and Lil Wayne and T-Pain’s “Got Money” released an electronic remix of Kanye West’s “All of the Lights” (see the video for their remix above), and, all last week, Play was in Los Angeles, wrapping up work on the upcoming album from French house producer David Guetta.
We briefly caught up with the duo at last night’s grand opening of the Rio Room. And, turns out, there’s some exciting stuff coming down the pipeline for the Brother Salinas.
Earlier this month, the first single off of Guetta’s as-yet-unnamed album leaked. Featuring verses from Flo Rida and Nicki Minaj, the song, called “Real Pimpin'” is a co-production between Play-N-Skillz and Guetta. Hear it here. According to Play, the producers are currently working on ideas for the music video.

But, Play says, this song is just the start of their collaboration: In addition to the first single off of the album, Play says the other song he and his brother worked with Guetta on is currently slated to be the third single off of the upcoming disc.
It’s a change in direction from the hip-hop heavy past of the duo, but, early on in this new venture, I think it’s safe to say that it’s an aesthetic that suits them well.
Expect more information on this collaboration in the coming weeks.
