It’s not often that a Swedish folk singer makes her way to our area. And, sadly, tonight is not going to be the exception.
Violinist/singer-songwriter Theresa Andersson has canceled tonight’s gig at AllGood Café–as well as her entire tour–due to a throat infection.
And actually, although born on the Swedish island of Gotland (who knew Sweden had islands?), Andersson has resided in Austin, Houston and New Orleans since 1990.
In any case, the cancellation is a something of a bummer when you consider Andersson’s deft touch at folksy ballads and adult contemporary retro-soul. Her 2008 effort Hummingbird, Go! featured a cameo by New Orleans legend Allen Toussaint and was her best album to date.
