Let’s hope Saturday is not when Moby reaches for his revolver. (Moby)
In case you hadn’t heard by now, Meltdown, Lizard Lounge‘s enormous annual block party, has a whale of a headliner this year. Moby, the guy who provided the soundtrack to every commercial, TV show and movie released around the turn of the millennium, will be the event’s marquee DJ. He follows a slew of international superstar DJs including James Zabiela, DJ Dan and Donald Glaude and Dirty South.
For anyone interested in what Moby is playing lately, there’s a recent DJ mix posted as an mp3 here. Songs include his own “Live For Tomorrow” and “The Stars,” remixed by Tocadisco and AC Slater, respectively. Others in the mix include DJ Sender’s “Operator” (Dabruck & Klein remix), Mar-T’s “Gentlemen” (Dahlback remix) and Jude Sebastian “Rubber Man” (Miles Dyson remix). Check the Meltdown blog for remixes and videos from various other DJs playing at the party.
Tickets are at several Dallas and Plano locations including Bill’s Records and 10 Footwear in Oak Cliff, or online at Groove Tickets. And, in case this afternoon’s weather has you concerned about the outdoor main stage, don’t worry yet: so far there’s no rain in the forecast. —Jesse Hughey
