We’ve got a couple more local-on-local cover songs to share with you today, adding to our growing catalog, which already includes covers from Air Review (doing Ishi), Ishi (doing Sarah Jaffe) and Shiny Around the Edges (doing Neon Indian).

First up this afternoon? The above clip from the multiple DOMA-nominated Ryan Thomas Becker (of his self-titled solo project, as well as the powerhouse Best Group nominee, RTB2), covering the similarly Best Blues-nominated New Science Projects and his song, “The Train.”

Shot by the folks at Mr. Magic Productions, the clip show Becker finishing recording a song, and then walking around Denton’s Square to give ‘er a listen on tape. Pretty high concept stuff, I guess. But really good stuff, too.

Give it a watch. And, for comparison’s sake, check a clip of New Science Projects performing his original version after the jump.
