When local artists receive coverage from national press, we usually give little more than a thumbs up and keep on moving. But the past few days has seen an exceptional number of Dallas-based acts in the news. So, on that note, here’s a little grab bag for you:
- Today, The Orbans‘ track “Like a Liar” is featured as the NPR Song Of The Day. We couldn’t agree more–it’s been our own, unofficial, in-house song of the day at the Dallas Observer offices ever since we posted the video a few months back.We just don’t give out awards for as such. Maybe we should?
- On Tuesday, Doug Burr was highlighted in Paste Magazine‘s question-and-answer feature, Catching Up With…, in which Burr chats with Fort Worth Weekly‘s Anthony Mariani, these days a part-time freelancer fro Paste. The biggest reveal in the interview? Burr plans on touring this year.
- Stereogum shed some light on Fight Bite‘s status yesterday afternoon: The Dallas-based band has been on hiatus ever since chanteuse Leanne Macomber hit the road with Neon Indian earlier this year, but, Stereogum reports while sharing some new Fight Bite mp3s, the band is finishing up a new EP.
