Earlier this year, KXT, The Kessler and the Observer formed like Voltron to bring you the Triple Play series, which brought together emerging artists from Dallas, Denton and Fort Worth. After a bit of summer hibernation, the series is back, with a new home. The grand opening of the Dallas City Performance Hall, which will host smaller theater, dance and music ventures in the future, serves as the backdrop for Friday’s Triple Play, which will feature a rousing round of gospel-funk from The Relatives, a check-in from local country-pop heroes Pleasant Grove and the folk exhalations of Seryn. And it doesn’t stop there: On Saturday, September 15, DCPH welcomes the Dallas Jazz Collective, led by Roger Boykin, which will venture through the history of Dallas jazz.
