In Texas, we have our own inflection when it comes to singing and playing the blues, and the need to genuinely feel it has kept many a smoky barroom swaying until closing. This weekend, Smokin’ Joe Kubek, Leo Hull & the Texas Blues Machine and many more pack into Poor David’s over two days. The corporate-owned behemoth stations aren’t in need of funds, and they’re also not playing the blues.
