The Recording Academy–you know, the folks behind the Grammy Awards–are throwing a big bash at the Granada tonight in conjunction with some T-Mobile Sidekick promotion. The show will feature normally big-time draws Kid Rock and Gretchen Wilson, either of whom could probably sell out the theater.
Only this show is aimed at a very, very specific market: T-Mobile customers. Only a limited number of tickets are available, and you have to get them through your local T-Mobile dealers. So, if you’re a Verizon or AT&T customer and you really, really want to see this show, it looks like you’re SOTL, pal.
(For what it’s worth, we’ll be at the show tonight–apparently, press credentialed Verizon customers are a-OK in the Recording Academy’s book–and we’ll have a full report on the show for you by tomorrow morning.) —Pete Freedman
