Hey, you! Yeah, you, the person who stupidly thought tonight’s Spoon show wasn’t gonna sell out. What were you thinking? Tickets are gone, daddy gone. But don’t worry; there’s plenty more party to be had music-wise in the DFDubb, and, as Jerri Blank says on her way to the library to check out Retardation: A Celebration, “Let’s go there now.”

We can’t get enough of 100 Damned Guns, a TXMF band that plays a brand of underground country that rolls smoothly but manages to stay ragged around the edges. But, you know, we’ve written about these guys recently, so go early and make sure to catch their set, but stick around for the high-powered Tennessee-tinged country-soul-rock of Will Hoge, and lift a cold one for us.

Oft overlooked, City Tavern ain’t a bad place to hang, and, we have to be honest, it’s got the best hot wings in town. Of course, tonight we’d feel guilty getting all carnivorous up in this piece, considering it’s a benefit for little fuzzy bunnies. But the voracious buzz of the Backsliders, with Kim Pendleton’s and Chris Bonner’s hot, scratchy vocals that sound Chris Robinson meets Bon Scott, will get us all hungry again. So will their classic riffage and Stones-y swagger for that matter. Reason enough to check ’em out—for free!—but, um, hello, this is for bunnies. — Jonanna Widner
