The Sword has gone through some rough times over the past year or so, what with the departure of their drummer, Trivett Wingo, causing them to cancel a slew of tour dates throughout Europe — no doubt a disappointing way to kick off an album release tour. But fear not! The Sword is back with a rescheduled tour, and they’re coming to the Granada Theater on Saturday night for a show to promote the release of their latest album, Warp Riders, a rockin’ science fiction concept album centered around an unearthly protagonist.
The album combines a fantasy storyline with the doom-and-gloom, Black Sabbath-inspired metal that The Sword is so well known for, resulting in a screaming, thrashy romp through space. And, thanks to the folks at the Granada Theater, we’ve got an awesome prize package that will send one DC9 reader and a group of friends to see them this Saturday to live out their science fiction rage fantasies and score some free swag, too. Check out the entire prize pack to this show — and how to win it — after the jump.
The prize package:
- 4 tickets to see The Sword at Granada Theater
- 1 Warp Riders CD
- 1 Warp Riders LP
- 1 7″ split The Sword/Year Long Disaster
