In theory, since they’re the touring band behind which this bill was built, tomorrow night’s Parade of Flesh show at The Cavern is all about its headlining act, Miami-based garage rock act Jacuzzi Boys. And, sure, there’s enough going on in the band’s tropical band of retro-rock that makes it interesting enough to carry that weight. Except, well, damn, if that isn’t a fine undercard on this bill, too.

Really: No offense to the Jacuzzi Boys, but it’s the two opening acts on this bill that have us stoked enough to bother trying to find parking along Lower Greenville. In 2009, both openers, Denton’s Fergus & Geronimo and Cleburne’s Fungi Girls made their mark with lo-fi updates to retro sounds. The former updated ’70s Motown and pop with some punk sensibilities; the latter did so with ’90s alt-rock, glossing things up by adding about as much fuzz as possible to its guitar-heavy sound.

In short: You’ll know where to find us tomorrow night. And maybe you, too, actually: Parade of Flesh has been kind enough to pass along a free pair of tickets to tomorrow night’s show. Want ’em? Just be the first person to email me right now with the words “Fungi & Geronimo” in the subject line. Do that and you get the tickets. It’s that easy. Good luck!
