Back in mid-September, when the Ace McNeely Foundation was announced as a response to the death of 30-year-old area musician, sound engineer and music teacher Ace McNeely, we passed along word that an eight-hour memorial and benefit concert was in the works, so as to help the fledgling foundation, which will aim to help provide music lessons and instruments for children who cannot afford them, get off the ground.

$30,000

Well, that event will take place on Sunday afternoon and into the evening at Sons of Hermann Hall, where a whole cast of performers will donate their services (so too will some area restaurants and bars) in an attempt to draw local music supporters out and help the Ace McNeely Foundation develop its nest egg.

After the jump, see the whole lineup of performers and their slotted performance times. To further entice potential attendees to come out, there will also be a raffle with prize including bar tabs to City Tavern, Double Wide, and La Grange, concert tickets from House Of Blues performances from Gwar, Steel Panther and others, artwork from Frank Campagna, music lessons from Zound Sounds, and “a special prize” from Charlie Palmer’s that promoters promise “will blow your mind.” Interesting.

Tickets to the affair cost $10. For more information, visit the Facebook event page. And, to purchase advance tickets to the event, visit pre-kindle’s event page.
