Neo-soul R&B queen Angie Stone released her most recent album Unexpected to unsurprising positive feedback in 2009. The real surprise? Stone’s performing in Dallas tomorrow for free.
The new Diabetes Health & Wellness Institute on Spring Avenue will open tomorrow (Saturday, June 19), and the Grammy-nominated singer has agreed to play a free show for the occasion. Suffering from diabetes herself, Stone will share tracks from Unexpected as well as stories about her own battles with the disease. Nick Jonas, himself, a sufferer of diabetes, was apparently unavailable.
But Stone is. And, adding to the festivities tomorrow are a few other guest speakers, interactive cooking areas, several diabetes workshops, trivia games and more. After the jump, check the details on the time and location–all that good stuff.
Time: 10:00a.m. – 2:00p.m.
Date: Saturday, June 19
Location:
Diabetes Health & Wellness Institute
(at the Juanita J. Craft Recreation Center)
4500 Spring Avenue
