One reviewer once described the sound of Austin’s Yellow Fever as “haunted house surf music” and although that’s a bit cryptic, it’s not far off the mark. Jennifer Moore and Adam Jones have been doing their oddball mix of girl group harmonies and Velvet Underground-inspired noise for several years now, but the duo has been slow to release many proper albums or even play live very often.
Hopefully the release of the band’s sophomore effort, Wild World, this January will spur the band to get out a bit more. In order to entice the curious to come to the band’s show tonight at Dan’s Silverleaf in Denton, Yellow Fever was kind enough to send over a cut from said effort, “Bermuda Triangle,” as a free MP3 for the readers of DC9.
Not a bad little slice of psychedelic pop if you ask me. But don’t ask me. Just hightail it to Denton tonight and make these fine people feel at home.
