After a few days of speculation in the wake of its canceled performance at Coachella, Frightened Rabbit finally circumvented the Icelandic volcanic ash cloud and arrived stateside yesterday afternoon.
The bad news? The band landed in Los Angeles, and won’t make it to Dallas in time for tonight’s show. Kind of a shame, then, that Chris Parker was able to track down frontman Scott Hutchinson for an interview in this week’s paper. Oh well.
The good news is that the show will go on. Oh, and the 400 or so that had bought tickets to tonight’s show will all get a refund via Ticketmaster. (The Loft, given the circumstances, simply asks that you wait 48 hours to claim your refund, as the paperwork is still being processed).
So how’d this all come to pass? Well, turns out, opening acts The Middle East and Denton’s own Matthew and The Arrogant Sea have agreed to remain on the bill. And The Loft, as sort of an apology for the FR cancellation, has waived all admission costs for the show. Maybe because this will be The Middle East’s third performance since March, when it played NX35? Dunno.
