Denton favorite, blog favorite and DOMA-nominated Fergus & Geronimo, was just signed to Hardly Art for its upcoming release. Hardly Art is an imprint of the powerhouse indie Sub Pop label, and has had several notable bands, like The Postal Service, Fleet Foxes, and Beach House, under its umbrella over the years.
We can only assume Andrew Savage, Jason Kelly, Landon Odle and Troy Tabner, the four current quadrants that make up the group, are excited about their new representation.
Overt, however, is their excitement about their July tour dates in the UK and France: A few days ago they posted two new tracks to their MySpace page, including the blunt “Girls With English Accents,” which has been made available as a free download over at Gorilla Vs. Bear. It’s a pretty great song–and essentially just a heads up to the unsuspecting women they’re sure to encounter across the pond.
Congratulations all around.
